Life After School

Careers education

Careers education is part of the school’s timetabled programme for pupils in years 10, 11 and 12. The main aim is to prepare students for the world of work and for life after school. Visiting speakers give talks and a programme of trips to places of employment and training is organised.

Each pupil has an interview with the Careers Teacher. There are several computers in the Careers Suite, which help generate job ideas.

A Careers Convention is held each year in school and representatives of third level education, local training organisations and Further Education Colleges are representatives.

Each year 11 student participates in a one week work experience placement in a workplace of their choosing.
